FAQs
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No.
Patients who fund themselves do not need a referral and can make an appointment any time without seeing a Doctor.
If you have Private Medical Insurance, you may need a doctor’s referral in order to get an authorisation from your Insurance Company. If you’re not sure contact us and we should be able to help you sort it out.
How many sessions will I require?
Thames Way Physio will aim to get you on the road to recovery as soon as possible. If we feel all you need is one session then that is all we will advise.
That is something we would discuss with you and advise you on what’s best for your problem and budget.
That said, the exact extent and nature of your condition needs to be examined and from there it can advised what will be required.
Do I need to pay up for each treatment session?
Only if you are a private self funding patient.
If you have Private Medical Insurance we will invoice your insurance company direct saving you the trouble.
Please remember you will remain responsible for the account and for any excess payments and outstanding balances.
What do I need to bring with me for my first appointment?
Suitable clothing and your registration documents if you are seeing us for the first time.
If you have insurance please bring your policy details and authorisation number.
